Job Description
KGBTexas is one of South Texas’ largest public relations and advertising agencies, and was recently voted one of the San Antonio Business Journal’s “Best Places To Work.” Our Houston office is currently looking for a dynamic, innovative, energetic public relations professional who can support and implement strategic public relations and branding campaigns.
Public Relations Account Coordinator
The successful candidate will support account team leaders in developing and implementing clients’ public relations goals, strategies and tactics and in managing daily client activities and contact as needed. Other key responsibilities include:
· Support account team leaders in development of press materials including press releases, media advisories, fact sheets, bylined articles, etc.
· Media relations including pitching, fostering media relationships and developing targeted media lists
· Event coordination including planning assistance, scheduling, event set-up and clean-up supervision, media relations and monitoring, client communications, etc.
· Preparation and distribution of client communication materials as needed including weekly status reports, billing summaries, etc.
· Manage clients’ media accomplishments through monitoring and distributing media coverage, maintaining clip binders, and preparing and distributing media value reports
· Research industry trends/current events
· Maintain updated contact lists for clients, community leaders and media
· Assist in researching and pursuing speaking opportunities, award nominations and important community groups on behalf of client
· Assist in developing, pursuing and managing media promotions, partnerships, sponsorships and donations
· Assist in new business development research, collateral materials and presentations as needed
· Assist in community relationship development as needed
· Assist KGB management and Senior Account Supervisor as needed
General Office Administrative Duties:
· Answer phones
· Manage and maintain office files including client reports, clip library, etc.
· Assist in development/maintenance of administrative systems (Factiva, central files, etc.)
1-2 years experience preferred but not required. Agency or media experience a plus.
Bachelor degree required. Computer expertise crucial. Excellent verbal/written skills essential. Must work well under changing and multiple deadlines.
