The Marketing Resource Center (MRC) Marketing Specialist works with MRC staff to implement tactics as outlined in approved marketing plans for The Nature Conservancy program partners. S/he ensures the timely design and implementation of print and digital marketing materials and programs created to achieve the outcomes identified in approved marketing plans for programs served by the MRC. Work will require interaction with a wide array of people within the MRC and with program partners across the organization as well as marketing staff in the field and at the Conservancy worldwide office.
The Marketing Specialist will also participate in various networks in order to share and re-apply best practices and engage with peers across the organization. Overall, s/he will contribute to the development of print and digital marketing materials specifically for partner programs served by the MRC in support of The Nature Conservancy’s three marketing objectives:
Become the most respected organization among key audiences
Influence local conservation activities among a broader constituency
Increase major gifts fundraising to support conservation goals
The Marketing Specialist reports to the Marketing Manager – MRC South, does not supervise staff, and will sometimes manage outside vendors and contractors.
Duties:
1. Work with MRC project leads to develop print and digital marketing tools
as outlined in approved marketing plan(s).
2. Design and layout planned creative projects within established templates or by developing original work.
3. Build and maintain databases and other print/electronic resources to support MRC projects.
4. Monitor and provide regular updates on progress of tactical rollout of marketing and media programs as required.
5. Proactively develop new marketing material, designs and concepts in anticipation of program partner needs.
6. Participate in Conservancy networks to enhance knowledge and skills.
7. Provide regular updates regarding status of projects to supervisor and/or project leaders.
8. Coordinate marketing activities with other MRC and marketing and communications staff and identify opportunities for coordination of activities between MRC staff, program partners and the Conservancy’s Worldwide Office.
9. Provide creative input on marketing plan tactics for publications and the Web
10. Ensure consistent implementation of the Conservancy’s visual identity standards, branding and key messages.
