SPEAKER: EMILY MIR, DIRECTOR of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS, HALLIBURTON

Emily Mir is director of External Affairs for Halliburton. She is responsible for managing the company’s global public relations, crisis communications and executive external communications. Emily joined Halliburton in 2013 and has since served in various communication roles, including leading the global Communications and Change Management integration team for a $38 billion project, and managing the Company’s Community Relations efforts.

Prior to joining Halliburton, Emily served as a manager of Corporate Communications at Kinder Morgan Inc., handling media relations and financial communications, and serving on the company’s emergency response team. She has almost 20 years of experience developing and implementing strategic public relation and communication campaigns targeting investors, customers, government officials, and the new media. Before working in the oil and gas industry, Emily worked in media relations and communications at CenterPoint Energy and Texas Children’s Hospital

Emily holds a Bachelor of Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin then began her career as a producer and reporter in Beaumont, Texas. She serves as chairman of the communications committee for the South Texas Energy & Economic Roundtable and is on the communications committee for the American Petroleum Institute. She is also a board member of the Latin Women’s Institute and a member of the National Charity League.

Emily lives in Spring, Texas, with her husband and their six children. She is a co-troop leader for her daughters’ Girl Scouts troops and also enjoys serving on their swim team board of directors. When she’s not busy with kids’ activities, Emily loves to run, read and travel.
