PRSA Houston: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Friends of PRSA Houston,

I want to assure you that we are continuing to monitor the evolving status of the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. Like many of you, we are closely following updates provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and other local, state and federal agencies. Out of an abundance of caution and in an effort to ensure the health and safety of our members, we will be canceling our March Happy Hour and postponing the April Breakfast. Full refunds will be issued to those that have already registered. Additionally, the APR Boot Camp scheduled in Houston April 22-24 has been cancelled. We are looking to reschedule this event and will provide an update as soon as we consult with PRSA National.

Our 35th Annual Excalibur Awards Gala is still expected to take place on June 25. As communicators, we know that you are on the front lines providing critical information on behalf of your organizations, and because of that, we will be extending the deadline for standard awards entries through March 27. Given these extenuating circumstances, we also understand that many of you may need extra time to prepare your entries. Therefore, we will open late entries on March 28 and not close them until midnight on April 15.

PRSA Houston will continue to closely monitor this situation and take any additional actions necessary to keep our members and community safe and healthy during this time. Please know that we appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you at future events!

As always, you can stay up to date with our happenings via our social media platforms and website. Should you have any questions, please email [email protected].

With gratitude,

Jessica Anderson
President
