Meet Your 2021 PRSA Houston President

As the director of communications for the Houston-Galveston Area Council, one of the largest regional planning commissions in the country, Meagan leads the organiza­tion’s strategic communications for a 13-county service area of more than 7 million people. Meagan’s nearly 20 years of public relations experience expands from the nonprofit, human resources, government, and higher education sectors. A Mississippi native, she joined PRSA Houston in 2017 and prior to arriving in Houston, she worked as the director of international communications and protocol for Mississippi State University’s International Institute. She is a Mississippi State graduate with a degree in communication and public relations and earned her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) in 2014. In addition to serving as PRSA Houston's president, Meagan is a member of Leadership Houston's Class of XXXIX.

Meagan led the Public Relations Association of Mississippi as the state president in 2012 and participated in many board positions over the years including secretary, awards chair, and conference chair. She also volunteered as a board member for the Southern Public Relations Federation as the membership chair, student services chair, and as a chapter representative. With Meagan's experience, education, accreditation, and drive to lead our chapter, she is a superb fit to provide leadership as our 2021 president. She understands the connection between the board of directors and membership is essential to enhancing the vitality and diversity of our chapter for robust professional development and growth for all members.
