April is APR Month
April 19 - PR Day Virtual Conference Call for Speakers Deadline
PR Day is one full day of expert speakers and compelling discussions that cater to communicators at every stage of their career - from students to seasoned PR pros. It will be held virtually on June 24 and attendees will gain knowledge in these key focus areas: students and young professionals; tools and techniques; strategic planning and implementation; and leadership training. To apply to be a speaker, please review the presentation proposal guidelines and submit your application information in a Word or PDF document via email to PRSA Houston President-Elect Felicia Perez at [email protected]
April 20 - Excalibur Awards Entries Open
PRSA Houston’s Excalibur Awards celebrate and honor outstanding public relations professionals, programs and tactics. In 2021, we will celebrate and honor the work of a challenging and unprecedented year, which highlighted PR in ways we haven’t seen before. We’ll recognize the Communicator of the Year, and the Young Professional of the Year, while one team will receive the 36th Annual Grand Excalibur Award. Award entries will open on April 20 and save the date for the Excalibur Awards event for October 7. We hope you’ll join us for this hybrid event (livestream and small in-person reception) to celebrate the successes of Houston’s top PR professionals.
Join PRSA Houston for our first in-person event of the year for a tour of McGovern Centennial Gardens on April 23 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. This event is for members only and is limited to 15 people. During the guided tour, explore the eight-acre, customed-made for Hermann Park gardens that include the Arid Garden, the Rose Garden, the Celebration Garden, the Woodland Garden, and an educational Family Garden, which produces seasonal vegetables, herbs, and fruit trees. Enjoy the opportunity to network with PR colleagues while casually strolling through one of our city's most beautiful greenspaces. Participants must follow the safety protocols required by the Hermann Park Conservancy. REGISTER NOW
