Cyndy Garza-Roberts ranks among the best and strongest voices within the Houston Hispanic community.

A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Cyndy began her career as news reporter for KTBC-TV (CBS). In 1979 she became a television broadcaster in Houston at KTRK-TV, where she was instrumental in the development of many of KTRK-TV’s special charity programs, such as “Share Your Holidays” and “March of Dimes Caring Cradles.” Her career has spanned the television and energy industries, and governmental relations as a lobbyist.

Today Cyndy is Director of Public Affairs of H-E-B, Houston Division, where she is responsible for the company’s public relations, community relations, media relations, governmental relations and philanthropic giving.

Cyndy is a Director and Lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and is a member of the Corporate Development, International, and Trail Ride committees. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Latin Women’s Initiative, Houston Civic Events, Inc., Legacy Community Health Clinic, the YMCA of Greater Houston, and Hermann Park Conservancy. She and is a past board President of the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce and is a member of Amigas Para Niños.

She has received numerous awards for her community leadership, including ‘ Top 50 Most Influential Women in Houston,’ by Houston Woman Magazine; Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Trailblazer – 2015; Houston Association of Hispanic Media Professionals Legacy Award; Houston Woman on the Move – Texas Executive Women; Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Woman of the Year - Media Category; American Institute of Public Service Media Award, Washington D.C.; and YWCA Hispanic Women’s Hall of Fame.
