President's Message

A Message From PRSA Houston President Angelique Myers Evans, MPA, APR

PRSA Houston Members and Future Members:

As we move further into the year, I continue to be inspired by the energy and engagement across PRSA Houston. From professional development opportunities to exclusive member experiences, it is clear that our community is showing up and investing in growth.

One of the most amazing parts of serving as your president has been the chance to connect more personally with members. April is APR Month, a time to recognize those pursuing Accreditation in Public Relations. I had the privilege of mentoring a member who passed her panel presentation and is now preparing for the exam.

Celebrating her progress and helping her plan next steps was a big reminder of what makes our chapter special. We are not just networking. We are lifting each other up and helping one another excel.

That support is one of the many benefits of membership. From mentorship and leadership opportunities to exclusive experiences, PRSA Houston continues to deliver value at every career stage. I was really excited to see so many members take advantage of our recent media tours with Telemundo Houston and Houston Public Media. These behind the scenes experiences offered unique insights and valuable connections.

We are also continuing important conversations through our latest PRactically Speaking episode featuring Laura Frnka-Davis. This series highlights timely topics and thought leadership from professionals across our community. Tune in and share it with your network.

Looking ahead, we have several opportunities for you to stay engaged. Join us for our April Luncheon on April 22, and take advantage of an exclusive tour of Shell Energy Stadium, followed by our Serve & Connect Volunteer Day on May 9, and our luncheon, AI Is Here—Now What? A Guide to Staying Ahead in Today’s Media Landscape on May 13. These chances to connect, learn and give back help strengthen our chapter and community.

In June, we will celebrate excellence at the Excalibur Awards Gala: A Night of Bold Voices, our premier annual event at The Houston Botanic Gardens. Tickets are on sale now and are limited. We will also kick off summer with Happy Hour at Pour Behavior in Midtown on June 4.

Many thanks to our board, volunteers and members for keeping our momentum strong. I encourage you to stay involved, take advantage of upcoming opportunities and continue supporting one another.

All the best,

Angelique Myers Evans, MPA, APR
2026 President, PRSA Houston
